Devondales 2012 Trade Show Exhibiton is this year going to be held at Dartington Hall near Totnes on 27 June 2012. The event has been hugely succesful in previous years. Fern Howard Competition Winner

Devondale customer Alex Watson was the lucky winner of a Mountain bike which was won as part of Fern Howards Magical Moments promotion. Devondale are stockists of the Fern Howard range of energy efficient 2D lighting products. Low energy seminar to be held in Taunton

Leading electrical wholesalers, Devondale Electrical Distributors, and lighting manufacturer LED Robus, are holding a specialist seminar in Taunton next week focussing on Low Energy Lighting Awareness.

Invitees include businesses, schools, medical facilities and other public organizations which can benefit from reducing energy cost and lowering their carbon footprints.

Paul Wood, managing director of Devondale said: “Energy saving is high on the agenda for most organizations nowadays because it makes business sense and is socially responsible.

“We will have experts available to raise awareness of Low Energy Lighting Technology and there will be the latest products on show to demonstrate the possibilities.”

The low energy lighting awareness seminar takes place over two session commencing at 3pm on Thursday 3rd May at the Castle Hotel, Taunton.

Glastonbury Branch Open Days

GLASTONBURY BRANCH OPEN DAYS

To coincide with the first anniversary of the opening our branch in Glastonbury we are holding two open days on April 11 and 12.

We have selected a number of our suppliers to be present over the two days to update you on the latest products and offers.

There will be a presentation from LED Robus on the benefits and savings of LED Lighting including their Energy Savings Calculator showing pay back periods to businesses on investment in LED lighting.

Envirovent will be demonstrating ventilation products and the benefits and savings to businesses on heat recovery.

Securefast will be demonstrating the latest security CCTV and Fire safety products and our own specialists on Fire & Security Graham Kendall who is hugely respected within the industry for his knowledge on fire products and Martyn Brown.

Devondale Extends Apprenticeship Scheme

Devondale extends apprenticeship scheme

The success of its apprenticeship scheme has led South West Electrical Distributors, Devondale, to register a new apprenticeship vacancy with the sector’s representative body, the Electrical Distributors Association (EDA).

In the past year Devondale recruited four apprentices working at branches in Exeter, Torquay, Barnstaple and Taunton. Three of the apprentices have now completed their courses and have secured full time contracts with Devondale with the fourth completing his course shortly.

March 2012 also sees the first anniversary of Devondale’s newest branch in Glastonbury where growing success under branch manager Ollie Boon has created the new apprenticeship vacancy.

Devondale managing director, Paul Wood, said: “Our apprenticeship scheme has been hugely successful and we now have well trained and enthusiastic new blood to help take the business forward.

“We are very grateful to the EDA for their support throughout this process. They have provided first class on-site training and assessment for our young recruits who have been studying for an NVQ in Distribution, Warehousing & Storage.

“Our apprentices represent a key investment for us which lays the foundations for the business’ future growth and I can’t acknowledge the success of the scheme any better than to register for another apprentice to work at our newest branch.”

Devondale operates two branches in Exeter with others at Barnstaple, Taunton, Torbay and Glastonbury. Devondale also runs its own trade show which takes place in June.

The training enrolled our customers who attended onto the Aico Fire Products Trained Installer Scheme.

New Energy Efficient Lighting

Our Barnstaple branch has just installed new Thorn Auaforce T5 low energy flourescent fittings and dimmable Thorn T5 flourescent lowbays opperating on light sensors. These fittings will reduce our carbon footprint as well reducing our energy cost by over £800 per year. Please call in at the branch to see them in use.

New Server Installed
