North Devon does the Prowler Push!

An heroic team from our North Devon branches in Bideford and Barnstaple carried out a Prowler Push in aid of two charities, Everything Ellie and ChemoHero.

Lee Warren and Joe Pettifer from Barnstaple and Ray Hawkins and Dave Frisby from Bideford, Regional Manager Sam Stephens and a bunch of willing contractors all took part in the push. It was organised by Reform Fitness in Barnstaple. The ‘prowler’ is a weighted sled – and participants took 20 minutes slots to make sure it kept moving for a full 12 hours. The total raised was over £2,600!

Everything Ellie was set up in memory of teenager Ellie who passed away in March 2015 to secondary Leukaemia Relapse aged 16, following a two year battle with cancer. The charity provides a simple day at the seaside, a break away from the hospital rooms for young people or parents/guardians with young families undergoing treatment for long term, life threatening or terminal illnesses.

ChemoHero provides a box of kindness to those undergoing chemotherapy. Over 40 different items go into a box of kindness, some have been donated, some sponsored but most have been fundraised for by the amazing North Devon community. They are given to patients on their first chemotherapy treatment in the Seamoor Unit at North Devon District Hospital.

Well done to everyone who took part, we hope your arms have stopped aching by now!
